Angel Gowns Australia, a free service that creates clothing packages for stillborn and premature babies, is urgently seeking volunteers in Swan Hill and surrounds.
Swan Hill area manager Susan Domaille said they currently had no seamstresses in the region.
Ms Domaille responded to a call for area managers and after following Angel Gowns for some time, felt it was her calling to bring the service to Swan Hill.
"A friend donated her wedding dress a few years ago and I followed the page on Facebook and I thought I could help," Ms Domaille said.
Angel Gowns Australia provide clothing for infants who have passed away, either before full-term or during birth, or after suffering from a life-limiting illness.
The clothing is made out of donated suits, wedding gowns or formal gowns.
"I call them beautiful sad packages, because they are a beautiful concept, but very sad," she said.
Ms Domaille needs the assistance of volunteer seamstresses, knitters, crocheters, beaders and people who could spend time deconstructing the donated gowns.
Seamstress can come up with an idea sourced from a book of styles and patterns.
"Unfortunately it's something that can help ease the pain and help celebrate the birth, stillborn births don't have to be kept quiet anymore," she said.
"We don't go to any of the funeral homes or hospitals, a person that wants one can contact us directly or the hospitals and funeral homes come to us and reach out."
Ms Domaille said bringing a service like this to the region was important because there was a lack of appropriate sized and style clothing.
"There is not much available for parents for this type of thing and parents don't want to be looking for this type of thing with all that grief," she said.
