THE Central Murray will commemorate ANZAC Day with special events at football grounds across the weekend.

Golden Rivers Football League will pay tribute with a special event this Sunday at Ultima, while services and commemorative jumpers will be worn at CMFNL games at Tyntynder and Kerang.

Tyntynder and Tooleybuc Manangatang will both sport unique guernseys for their match at Alan Garden Reserve, as will Ultima and Nullwil on Sunday.

The initiative, created by RSL Victoria to commemorate 100 years since the first World War, has provided a select group of clubs in 2016 and 2017 to wear ANZAC-themed jumpers.

After a submission to ANZAC House fell through in 2016, Swan Hill RSL President Barry Townley has been working on this year's submission for over ten months.

"We applied for them [the jumpers] last year, but we got knocked back," Mr Townley said.

"This year we got in early when they first came out in June last year and I've been working on it ever since."
