THE success of this week's Restaurants of Swan Hill AMT could see the region host more high-profile tournaments in the near future.

Rounding off on Thursday morning, it was the first time that an Australian Money Tournament (AMT) had been connected to the event in its three year history.

The event attracted a number of top players.

Featuring over 550 matches and over 200 players ranging from seven to 50 years old, the tournament has been labelled a rousing success.

"It has been a terrific event. The feedback we're getting is that it's a friendly venue, the hospitality of the town has been great, the meals at our sponsors' restaurants were terrific, and people are enjoying their time in Swan Hill," Swan Hill Lawn Tennis Club President Peter Morrison told The Guardian.
