Saving the river

THE Murray Darling Basin Authority still holds concerns for some parts of the Murray River as blackwater grips the region.

It is unclear when the latest spate of blackwater regions will clear up with the MDBA saying it "is a difficult prediction to make" about when it would end.

A response is being co-ordinated to help relieve the stress on fish populations due to the low dissolved oxygen levels in areas of the system such as Murray, Edward, Wakool and Murrumbidgee rivers.
