Smashing success

COUNTRY Week Tennis was a big hit in Swan Hill last week.

Among the highlights from a sporting perspective, four Swan Hill teams -- two men's and two women's -- qualified for grand finals.

Swan Hill Lawn Tennis Club president Trevor Holt said organisers received positive feedback from tennis players.

"The week went pretty well, we were pretty happy with what went on. People were very happy with the condition of the courts," he said.

"Having all courts in the one venue was successful again."

Holt said the event was blessed with ideal tennis conditions.

"We were lucky with the weather, it wasn't too hot for people from down south," he said.

A local highlight was the success of father and son combo Max and Lachlan Carroll, who tasted success in special B2, Holt said.

Event organisers were also pleased to have representatives from the State Government, Tennis Victoria and the Victorian Country Tennis Association pop in.

"It doesn't hurt. We certainly had a lot of officials," he said.
