TWO travelling golfers stopped at Murray Downs on Good Friday - day 92 of a year long, world-wide fundraising trip.
Kiwi corporate lawyers Jamie Patton and Michael Goldstein are playing a round of golf every day in 2010, around the world, to raise money for New Zealand charity, The First Tee.
The First Tee is a foundation that is dedicated to impacting the lives of young New Zealanders by providing learning facilities and educational programmes that promote character development and life-enhancing values through the game of golf.
Patton and Goldstein's journey began on January 1 at Kauri Cliffs and will end on December 31 at Cape Kidnappers.
Patton and Goldstein played 18 holes at Murray Downs.
Murray Downs professional Kristian Keily said the club was thrilled to be a part of the tour.
They had recently played at a number of top rating courses across Victoria including The National, Moonah Links, The Dunes, The National, Yarra Yarra, Huntingdale, Kingston Heath, Royal Melbourne (East), Southern and Commonwealth.
"It was an honour to have somebody like that think of us on their travels," Keily said.
Keily said the pair had already generated $10,000 and were hoping to hit $100, 000 before the end of their trip.
"What they've done is fantastic. It's a selfless act," he said.
On their website blog, Patton wrote of an "awesome experience" at Murray Downs.
