BATTING first, RSL was finally among the runs against St Mary's Tyntynder at Ken Harrison Reserve on Saturday.
RSL managed 197 off about 55 overs, with Paul Walsh top-scoring with 54 and Scott Worner making 40.
Ray Power and Dwayne Birch took most of the wickets for St Mary's with four and three respectively.
Jarrod Halligan then top-scored for the home side, opening the batting with 39.
After 25 overs, St Mary's Tyntynder is on 3/70.
RSL captain Dwayne Hinton said he was pretty happy with the visitors' performance.
"It's probably good to get some runs on the board, it's something we've been lacking most of the year with our batting," he said.
Hinton said he was happy to see "a few blokes click" with the bat.
But the side's performance with the ball was not its best, he said.
"It wasn't nearly our best performance with the ball, but it wasn't too bad," Hinton said.
"(Next week) we just need to bowl our line and length and not give too much away," he said.
