A GOLD in the high jump was one of Denise Snyder's many highlights when she competed at the Victorian Country Championships track and field event in Bendigo.
Snyder competed in 11 disciplines at the three-day event, which ran from January 13 to 15.
The 20-year-old competed in the 100m, 200m, 100m hurdles, 400m hurdles, discus, javelin and shot put as well as the high, long and triple jump disciplines.
She also took part in the 4x400m relay event.
"I was pretty tired after doing all of those," she laughed yesterday.
"It was a really good weekend, and a very warm weekend."
As well as winning the high jump, Snyder finished second in the long jump and the 100m hurdles.
Three bronze medals were also forthcoming for the Bendigo-based university student.
"The high jump and the long jump are my favourite events, but I just like doing a variety of events. It's always fun to keep your options open," she said.
Snyder, who said she will continue to play netball with Swan Hill this season if other commitments allow, said she was entering her second year of university.
She has upcoming state titles in February and March, with national competition in April.
