Teen dies in crash

27 Jan, 2012 03:15 PM
A 19-YEAR-old man has died following a car accident 14km from Moulamein in the early hours of this morning.

New South Wales police said emergency services were called to Nacurrie Road at about 4.50am and found that a Ford XR6 sedan had been badly damaged.

Investigators believe the P2 probationary driver lost control of the vehicle, before it rolled several times while approaching the Murrein Yarrein Creek Bridge.

The driver, who was a popular and talented football and tennis player from Moulamein, died on impact.

A 20-year-old male passenger, also from Moulamein, suffered minor injuries and was taken to hospital.

New South Wales police established a crime scene around the crash site, with specialist officers examining the area today.

A report will now be prepared for the coroner.
